How to send a referral

Open a Journey step. Find the resource that fits. Generate the referral. Send it from your own email. Mark it sent. About 60 seconds once you know the flow.

Phase A · Send your first referral

Open the Journey and find the right step

Browse or use the situation matcher to land on the Journey that fits. Expand the step that contains the resource you want to refer to. Resources appear inside the step content, sometimes with referral templates already written.

Generate the referral

Next to the resource, click Generate referral. This creates a pre-written message with the resource’s name, contact info, what they provide, and a note about your client’s situation.

Edit the generated text before you copy it. Add your client’s name, adjust specifics, remove anything that doesn’t apply. The generated text is a starting point, not a final draft.

Copy and send from your own email

Copy the referral text. Paste it into your own email client and send it to the resource. WERQ HUB doesn’t send emails on your behalf — you send from your own address so the receiving organization knows who to contact if they have questions.

Come back and mark it sent

Return to the referral in WERQ HUB and mark it as sent. This keeps your referral log accurate and lets you track what’s been sent, to whom, and when.

Phase B · Track and understand

Find your referral history

Every referral you’ve generated lives in My referrals, with the Journey + step it came from, the resource it went to, and whether you marked it sent. Your referral history is yours — other members of your org don’t see your individual referrals unless you share them.

Why you send from your own email

This is intentional. Referrals from a known person at a known org carry more weight than referrals from a platform address. When you send from your own email, the receiving resource knows who to call if they have a question or need to coordinate care.
