For LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC owned businesses

Try Guide for businesses

A public guide, member offer system, redemption activity view, and print proof flow in one small portal.

Browsing is free for readers. Try Club members donate $25 or more a year to WERQ Together to unlock future deal details when a business chooses to run an offer. Businesses can be listed without pretending a discount is already live.

Why Try Guide

Queer business directories exist. We took it a step further.

With Try Guide, we incentivize customers to actually show up and spend money at queer businesses. Not because they have to, but because they want to explore and discover the incredible LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC-owned businesses around them.

Sometimes all it takes is a little encouragement to get out there. A coupon. We call them deals.

It is not easy for queer small businesses to offer something free all the time, and you do not have to. But a little something every now and then can help this community ignite something special: get folks out the door and spending money at the businesses that make our neighborhoods ours.

What shows up

The business side mirrors the real guide.

Public listing

Show your category, neighborhood, story, links, logo, and cover photos in the free public guide.

Cover gallery

Use up to three ordered cover photos so people can actually see the shop, studio, service, or event.

Try Club offers

Submit optional member-only deals for review. Public previews stay clear when a deal is still future-facing.

Print proof review

When a free publication issue includes your listing or coupon, proofs show up in the business portal.

Flow

From listing to redeemed coupon.

  1. 01

    Claim or create a listing

WERQ connects the right owner or staff email to a new or existing business profile.

  2. 02

    Tune the public profile

Add the short description, links, logo, cover photos, map details, and badges.

  3. 03

    Choose offers when ready

Deals can be digital, in person, or print-ready. Staff review keeps the public guide tidy.

  4. 04

    Members redeem on their phone

Members reveal and redeem coupons on their own phone. Your staff do not need an app or scanner, just honor the coupon they show.

Business portal

Owners and staff get one place to manage the moving parts.

The portal is built around the actual work: keeping the listing current, proposing offers, supporting in-person redemptions, and reviewing free publication proofs before they print.

  • Profile editor for listing copy, links, logo, and cover photos
  • Deal proposal queue with review status
  • Recent coupon activity and member-reported issues
  • Print proof inbox for free publication snapshots
